Quality

Control the detail and processing time of your images with the quality parameter: --quality or --q

What is Quality?

Quality controls how much GPU time is spent making your images. This can change how the details and textures look. In Midjourney version 7 the default setting for quality is 1. You can also set values to 2 or 4, which will use 2 times or 4 times more GPU time. Keep in mind, the quality parameter only influences the first set of four images you create. It doesn’t affect later variations, inpainting/outpainting, or upscales. If you’re looking to save on GPU time, give Draft Mode a try.

Setting the Quality Value

Add --q # to the end of your prompt in the Imagine bar. Using --q on midjourney.com Add --q # to the end of your prompt in Discord. Using --q in Discord • In version 7 there is no --q 3 setting. If used, it will automatically switch to --q 4 --q 4 is not compatible with Omni Reference.
